The smog has returned because Canada is still on fire apparently. But that’s okay because we’re back on track with the final season of The Originals. And by “we” I really mean it! After the rut that was season three, these last two seasons have really found their stride again.
We find the Mikelsons where we left them: sad and separated. Elijah is playing the piano at a bar in France, Rebbekah is living her best life with Marcel, Freya is still lesbianing, and Klaus is angsting his hardest. But there’s something sinister in the air as Klaus refuses to follow the rules and Hope is dealing with her own teenage problems. Also, where the hell is Haley?

We’re back after our mini-break and some major life changes. Sam is now married and Stormy is still chugging along on her Ph.D. (like, she was literally doing school work in the bridal suite??). This week, we’re here to review the newish Catholic horror film Consecration.
Consecration is a 2023 Shudder Exclusive horror movie that follows an English Jenna Malone to a Convent in North Ireland. She’s there to uncover the truth surrounding her brother’s death because she simply can’t accept that he took his own life. Throughout her search, she finds that things aren’t as they seem in this quiet little convent and that there’s something sinister lurking beneath the surface.
We also take twenty minutes to discuss what everyone on the Internet is talking about: The Titan Submarine and the Hubris of Man. Seriously, the word hubris has reached its ultimate peak this week. I’ve never heard it used more. Hubris hubris hubris hubris hubris.

Season 4 of The Originals is a wrap! The conclusion of the penultimate season finds Hope possessed by The Hollow, in an attempt to save herself. The Mikelson siblings then make the heartbreaking decision to separate, as it is the only way to stop the ancient evil.
Smash cut to seven years later, and Klaus is already breaking all the rules by giving his brother, Elijah, a $100 tip…in American currency…in France. Some things may change, but some things last forever.
We also take a moment to pick our next movie to review. 2014’s Unfriended, which follows a group of friends on a Skype call as they’re haunted by an evil entity. And then Sam’s microphone breaks.

We’re back! We hope everyone had an awesome Easter/Passover/Ramadan or whatever non-Abrahamic spring holiday you choose to celebrate. This week, we’re very excited to talk about a fantastic little horror flick called Smile.
Smile is a 2022 horror movie directed by Parker Finn and stars Sosie Bacon. We follow psychiatrist, Rose Cotter as she is haunted by an ominous, smiling form. The movie is based on Finn’s short film Laura Hasn’t Slept, which can now be considered a prequel to his feature film debut.

This week we hit the midpoint of the fourth season of The Originals, and Alaric has re-entered the picture, setting the stage for yet another spinoff. Even though getting through this series has been a chore, Stormy sets the ambitious goal of finishing it by the end of April.
Will Sam be able to convince her to get to Castlenvania despite her disdain for animated shows? Yes. Or the podcast ends here.
Sam also gives her initial thoughts on the Resident Evil 4 Remake and Stormy finally breaks her silence on Scream 5 because she finally watched it.

This little independent horror flick took TikTok by storm a few months ago, and we’re finally seeing what all the hype is about.
Taking place literally hours after the end of the first Terrifier, we follow Sienna, a high schooler grieving the loss of her father, as she prepares for a wild Halloween night. However, Art the Clown and his new demon daughter have other plans for the evening. Can Sienna get her shit together and stop the ultimate evil from killing her brother? And was this movie overhyped?

The Originals is starting to find its mojo again in this first half of Season 4. Hayley, after five years of being a single mother, finally has all the pieces in place to wake up the Mikelsons. Including kidnapping and holding an innocent werewolf hostage. But that fine. That’s the least terrible thing anyone has done in this show.
Meanwhile, Marcel continues to torture Klaus, which I’m sure won’t come back to haunt him in anyway.
Meanwhile, meanwhile, Vincent has uncovered a horrifying entity that is kidnapping children in order to come to full power. And he may or may not be fully responsible for it existing in the first place. He was just in a silly goofy mood to get New Orleans back under the rule of the witches.

The Invitation is a 2022 horror romance film that did not get the attention it deserves. Starring Nathalie Emmanuel and Thomas Doherty, the film follows a young woman desperately seeking a family connection after the death of her mother.
Thanks to online DNA testing, she’s able to meet one of her distant cousins who invites her to a family wedding in England, all expenses paid. She accepts, thinking she’s about to have the family she’s been yearning for--but things aren’t always what they seem.
Sam also bullies Stormy into watching an AnImAtED sEriEs.
